my mind
memory & heart
have always been
my greatest strengths
but also my downfall
they are all too big
too strong
too much
but someday
I will find a place
where I am not
too… anything.
where
I am
what I am.
I look forward
to that day.

in the early
morning hours
i sit quietly
sip my coffee
let my eyelids droop
as I breathe in
the scent of coffee
lick the juice
of fresh fruit
from my lips
savour
the sun’s rays
as it warms my skin
I smile to myself
a perfect start
to my day…
J. Belle

my mind
sits quietly
still amongst
the silence
i listen
take it all in
savour it
I hear
the wind
in the trees
rain upon
the window
I sip my coffee
rest my head back
against the chair
this is sunday morning.
J. Belle

sometimes
you hear things
see things
and think
gosh, I wish
that was for me
but then
reality stands
in front of you
and tells you
very clearly
it is not
so, you just
stand there
close your eyes
and take it all in
the sun
the breeze
and the silence.
J. Belle

whisper to me
in the early
morning light
but as the sun sets
in the evening
just stand with me
and soak it all in…
J. Belle

I felt safe
calm, quiet
peaceful
near you
and in
this world
that is
precious
I try not
to ask
for more
Instead
I will sit
with the feeling
a moment…
J. Belle

today
my heart
reached out
my finger
touched
your finger…
I stayed
a moment
to smile.
J. Belle

i dreamt of you
in the silence
of slumber
last night
i twirled
amongst
the trees
danced
in the freshly
fallen snow
i looked into
your joyful eyes
my cheeks rose
broadening smile
i closed my eyes
turned toward
shining sun
i stood
savouring
the moment
J. Belle

She crouched down
at the foot of the sea
ripples lapped
at her hemline
arms wrapped
around her knees
she whispered
softly
almost
to herself
but mostly
to the sea
never enough…
I am
simply
never enough
she grows weary
presses her chin
to her knees
lifts herself up
stands facing the waters
breathes in the salt air
turns
continues
walking along
the shoreline
waves caressing
her feet
her ankles
and calves
enough no longer
has value
I simply
am.
J. Belle

stay with me
in the moonlight
rest with me
in the moonlight
wait with me
in the moonlight
and dawn
will bring us right
