why am I
forever waiting
for things
that exist
only inside
my mind
J. Belle

…that wonderful time
in the evening
when I can sit
in a comfy chair
with a mug of tea
some relaxing music
let all the thoughts
inside my mind
slosh & slide around
until they finally settle
in all the right cracks
and crevasses.
J. Belle

There is a small
part of me
that will
watch for you
every single day
for the rest
of my life.
J. Belle

Once upon a time
long ago
there was a little girl
head full of
numbers
letters
and drums.
They marched
and danced
this way
and that way.
Until one day
she managed
to line them up
in order.
Silence hummed
so naturally.
All but the echo
of her thumb
a constant cadence
inside her mind.
J. Belle

I stand
arms spread wide
eyes lifted
to the sky
my smile
widens
as the droplets
trickle down
my arms
and chest
settling
on the sidewalk
beneath me
the subtle taste
of city in the rain.
J. Belle

I feel
warm sun
through the wool
on my back
cool breeze
upon my bare face
taste the salty air
on my tongue
I feel a refreshing
spray of water
each time I hear
a crashing wave
cold rock
slick algae
beneath my feet
I breathe
& exhale
I am there.
J. Belle

to be indifferent
would be the death of me
it is not who I am
or who I ever wish to be.
J. Belle 💛

A special place
cradled lovingly
within my heart
no one else can see
Something
is always missing
that something
is you.
J. Belle

Shadow caresses
the edge of sorrow
Light trickles down
into the bowl of hope
Sip from the cup of life
really taste it
the sweet
and the bitter
filling your belly
with resilience.
J. Belle

When you stand
in the sunlight
remember those
who sat with you
in the darkness.
