I lay flat in the cold…
a road made of ice.
Looking up into the darkness
as luminescent colours
dance above me.
Reaching up my arms,
tracing the colours
with my fingertips.
Painting the sky
and my mind with magic.

to sit quietly
smile to yourself

why am I
forever waiting
for things
that exist
only inside
my mind

when I can sit
in a comfy chair
with a mug of tea
some relaxing music
let all the thoughts

slosh & slide around
until they finally settle
in all the right cracks
and crevasses.

that will
watch for you
every single day

Once upon a time
long ago
there was a little girl
head full of
numbers
letters
and drums.
They marched
and danced
this way
and that way.
Until one day
she managed
to line them up
in order.
Silence hummed
so naturally.
All but the echo
of her thumb
a constant cadence
inside her mind.

I stand
arms spread wide
eyes lifted
to the sky
my smile
widens
as the droplets
trickle down
my arms
and chest
settling
on the sidewalk
beneath me
the subtle taste
of city in the rain.

cool breeze

taste the salty air
on my tongue
I feel a refreshing
spray of water
each time I hear
a crashing wave

slick algae
beneath my feet
I breathe
& exhale
I am there.
