Poetry – ripples

everything

we do

undulates

outward

look around

it can be seen

along the surface

of the waters…

what is it that

your ripples

send out

into the world?

Poetry – fall from my grasp

the words

that bubble up

from my heart

tumble

tenderly

lovingly

from my lips

they are mine

given freely

to the world

around me

honest

pure

no matter

how many

fall from my

grasp

they are not

nothing

but a part

of me

my

being

seeds

upon

soil

in

the

minds

of

others

Poetry – Sunrise

blink slowly

not quite awake

the sun peaks

over the horizon

good morning

she whispers

my smile broadens

eyelids droop

snuggle deeper

under my duvet

drift back

into slumber

thinking of you.

Poetry – Raindrops

a long awaited rain

trickles down

my forehead

water puddles

around my feet

scent of soil

and flowers

fills my senses

I close my eyes

sit down next to you

enjoying the rain

in that special place

inside my mind

where only you & I

can go together

it’s calm

for a moment…

Poetry – you you you

I listened while

she gently explained

the knowledge

of the sea…

you will become

much happier

when you realize

that if it is

not said to you

or given to you

it is not for you

you you you

ripple ripple ripple

slosh slosh slosh

the waters

always know

best best best

Poetry – my fingers…

my fingers

motionless

barely touching

the keys

my body tingles

mind relaxes

breath slows

the world

around me

becomes fuzzy

and warm

it’s at that moment

that exact moment

just before

it begins…

Poetry – as I pause

it is the little things

100 beans

counted slowly

ground by hand

press & drip

froth & pour

a little heart

leaf or flower

it is warm

in my hands

as I pause…

the scent wafts

eyes close

corners of my mouth

curl upward

these are the things

that give me joy

in the moment

and hope

for the future.
