Poetry – Simply

She crouched down

at the foot of the sea

ripples lapped

at her hemline

arms wrapped

around her knees

she whispered

softly

almost

to herself

but mostly

to the sea

never enough…

I am

simply

never enough

she grows weary

presses her chin

to her knees

lifts herself up

stands facing the waters

breathes in the salt air

turns

continues

walking along

the shoreline

waves caressing

her feet

her ankles

and calves

enough no longer

has value

I simply

am.

Poetry – tucked away but not forgotten

i whispered into the night

i told it stories of new

and dreams of old

i closed my eyes

held your hand

so very tightly

may there be a thousand moons

and a thousand rising suns

I will never let go

of the vision i had

tucked into the deepest

darkest corner

of my mind.

Poetry – touch

I reach with my fingers

caressing the space

around me

molding it

like clay

forming shapes

lovely and smooth

I can not unsee it

the beauty

it warms my heart

and sets me free

Poetry – Roots

Sometimes

we need to stop

and stand still

for a few moments.

Stretching downward

allowing your roots

to push deeper, wider

become stronger.

Only then can you

reach out with stability

and upward

without limits.

Smile, relax

and enjoy

the growth.
