Micro-fiction – Night Has Come

parched

lips crusted

with dirt & sweat

back of her hand

swipes upward

past her brow

she sniffs

wincing

from dust & grime

the sun sets

chill across her back

voices in the distance

low soothing melody

fingers on string & key

she’s done

all she could

night has come.

Poetry – morning sun

Every day

I wake

with the ache

of a broken heart.

Each day

I stretch

and greet

the morning sun.

Open my heart

refill my cup

smile into the world

exhale

and carry on

with my day.

That

is

resilience.

Poetry

Birds chirp

wings beating

in the air

a chorus

of frogs below

squirrels chitter

wind rustling

through

last years leaves

reaching out

warm sun

cool breeze

firm yet sways

smooth papery

to touch

yet rough

against

my forehead

pause…

a moment.

Poetry – just sway

Close your eyes

Shift
your weight
side
to side…

and
sway.

Sway
like no one’s
watching.

Sway
to the rhythm
of your heart.

Sway
to your
hopes
and
dreams.

Sway
especially
when you feel
forgotten.

Just
sway…

Poetry

Never fear…

earth & water

help the flowers grow.
