Poetry – Simply

She crouched down

at the foot of the sea

ripples lapped

at her hemline

arms wrapped

around her knees

she whispered

softly

almost

to herself

but mostly

to the sea

never enough…

I am

simply

never enough

she grows weary

presses her chin

to her knees

lifts herself up

stands facing the waters

breathes in the salt air

turns

continues

walking along

the shoreline

waves caressing

her feet

her ankles

and calves

enough no longer

has value

I simply

am.

Poetry – ripples

everything

we do

undulates

outward

look around

it can be seen

along the surface

of the waters…

what is it that

your ripples

send out

into the world?

Poetry – because, well…

Her mind

might go

this way

or that way

twirl around

and around

fall deep

into thought

or fly high

in the clouds

but one thing

never changes

will always be true

I’m not going to say

because, well

i don’t want to.

Poetry – Aurora

I lay flat in the cold…

a road made of ice.

Looking up into the darkness

as luminescent colours

dance above me.

Reaching up my arms,

tracing the colours

with my fingertips.

Painting the sky

and my mind with magic.
