Poetry – I sit

I sit

at my window

watching

the snow fall

on the city below

there’s a

softness

about the morning

all the edges

blurred

there’s comfort

in knowing

that the harshness

of the night

worn smooth

the morning sigh

caresses

my cheeks

& forehead

I am left

breathless

Poetry – Roots

Sometimes

we need to stop

and stand still

for a few moments.

Stretching downward

allowing your roots

to push deeper, wider

become stronger.

Only then can you

reach out with stability

and upward

without limits.

Smile, relax

and enjoy

the growth.

Poetry – Aurora

I lay flat in the cold…

a road made of ice.

Looking up into the darkness

as luminescent colours

dance above me.

Reaching up my arms,

tracing the colours

with my fingertips.

Painting the sky

and my mind with magic.

Poetry – calm

…that wonderful time

in the evening

when I can sit

in a comfy chair

with a mug of tea

some relaxing music

let all the thoughts

inside my mind

slosh & slide around

until they finally settle

in all the right cracks

and crevasses.

Poetry – echo

Once upon a time

long ago

there was a little girl

head full of

numbers

letters

and drums.

They marched

and danced

this way

and that way.

Until one day

she managed

to line them up

in order.

Silence hummed

so naturally.

All but the echo

of her thumb

a constant cadence

inside her mind.

Poetry – City Rain

I stand

arms spread wide

eyes lifted

to the sky

my smile

widens

as the droplets

trickle down

my arms

and chest

settling

on the sidewalk

beneath me

the subtle taste

of city in the rain.
